Hats off to Sam Bustamante, our Latest OSOmniMedia OJT Program Graduate

OSOmniMedia - OJT Program Graduation
Samuel in the left along with his supervisor, Kenneth.

After 160 hours of hands on training with computer programs such as Photoshop and Excel, Samuel Jonne Bustamante (or Sam for short) is now a certified alumni of our OSOmniMedia On-the-Job Training Program. Sam trained under no less than the head of our IT Product Specialist team, Kenneth, who also oversees the team handling our e-commerce accounts from international clients. We wish Sam all the best in his future endeavours! To find out more about our internship program, feel free to inquire.

1. Overall – how was the experience?:
The experience was well worth it. It allowed me to experience what it is like working in the industry, specifically, on the e-commerce side. It has taught me a lot of new things, and allowed me to improve my skills in certain things.

2. What was the most difficult part about the program at Osomnimedia?:
The most difficult part of my training is probably removing the shadows from footwear, especially the ones that don’t have a straight sole. It was really hassle and tiring, but I can’t complain because it somehow improved my skills in using the Pen tool. Also, it was quite difficult to work with large amounts of data, as you don’t just have to be careful, but also you need to be efficient.

3.What did you enjoy most about your experience?:
There are a lot of things I enjoyed during my internship at Osomnimedia. But, if I have to choose, it would be the learning experience. I enjoyed it because not only I got to learn new stuff and skills, and get to use them, but also, I know that it’ll be a part of me and might come useful in the future. (Also, there’s the background music playing at the office for the whole time everyday, which I also enjoyed.)

4.How was the staff, were they easy on you, or too demanding? Why?:
The staff were neither easy on me nor too demanding, they we’re just on the middle. I appreciated that because I was never slacking off and was never too pressured. Yes, they have given tasks working with a lot of products and data, but it never came to a point that it overwhelmed me.

5.What are your plans going forward?:
After this course that I’m taking right now, I’m still deciding whether I should continue to a 4-year IT course, take up another course, or find a job. I can’t say for sure right now. I’ll see and wait what God calls me to do.

6.What advice would you give other students who choose to OJT at Osomnimedia:
For those who chose Osomnimedia to take up OJT, just enjoy your training there and take up as many things, experiences, and skills as you can. Don’t allow yourself finishing your internship there learning nothing. Grab every opportunity you can to learn something new, and don’t ever consider that you know everything there is to know, there’s always room for improvement. Don’t forget to respect your supervisors and those who are in authority.

Also, there’s music there, friendly people to help you and a welcoming atmosphere.
