OJT Graduate Glenn Marc Torres from HCDC (Holy Cross of Davao College)
Hats off to Glenn Marc Torres, the latest student to successfully complete the OSOmniMedia OJT Program!
A BSIT (Bachelor of Information Technology) student from the Holy Cross of Davao College, Glenn was able to complete 486 hours of internship under our web and graphic design team with the guidance of his mentor, Ryan Lou Lapitan.
Glenn’s learning:
It was a great experience being a student intern at OSOmniMedia. The experienced to be a programmer in a real world where the word “bahala na” does not exist. I admit I have very low knowledge about JavaScript and jQuery. When my trainer gives me a task to create tools for them and start coding, there’s a lot of bugs, off course. But after creating those tools, I learned a lot and had a better understanding about these programming languages.
When it comes to E-commerce, I’m familiar with it but I don’t know the process. When I start working for e-commerce sites, I fully understand the process and how the team are able to engage with sellers on these sites.
Photo Editing and Styling are not my forte, but after the training I learned a lot and starting to like photo editing especially in Photoshop. I learned new techniques and ideas that are useful in e-commerce site management and other area. Overall, I can say that it was fun working here at OSOmniMedia.

Overall – how was the experience?:
It was great, I learned so much especially in programming, photoshop, excel and about e-commerce sites. I have a good trainer who always guides me in every task. The employees are approachable.
What was the most difficult part about the program at Osomnimedia?:

Doing my assigned Office Work
How was the staff, were they easy on you, or too demanding? Why?:
The staff are easy on me. They never give me a hard task or multiple task at the same time.
What are your plans going forward?:
Find a job that fits to my current field and interests.
What advice would you give other students who choose to OJT at Osomnimedia:
Be creative and do the easiest way to complete the task. Don’t be late 😊
NOTE:
Being an intern in this company is a great opportunity. As a trainee, you can’t say you know everything and what to do even if you have already knowledge in computers. I encountered difficulties and struggles also on my task, that’s why asking questions to your trainer is very important because if you don’t ask, there’s a big possibility you commit errors at work.
